Welcome to Yechiel's Fishery Farm. This website is created for children, parents, teachers, and curious readers. Because children may visit and enjoy this site, we take privacy and safety with the utmost seriousness.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, what we do not collect, and how parents, guardians, or teachers may contact us with questions or requests.

This policy is designed to comply with the United States Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), 15 U.S.C. § 6501 et seq., and the rules promulgated by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) thereunder. For visitors outside the United States, we apply these same standards globally as a matter of policy.

1. Child Safety and Privacy

Yechiel's Fishery Farm is designed to be a safe, parent-led website for children's books and educational resources. This policy applies with particular care to visitors under the age of 13, consistent with COPPA.

We do not ask children to send us personal information directly. Any submissions to the Fishery Farm Club or monthly showcase must be sent by a parent, guardian, or teacher on behalf of a child.

We specifically request that no one — adult or child — sends us a child's full name, face photo, home address, school name, phone number, email address, or any other private details.

If we discover that we have inadvertently received personal information directly from a child under the age of 13 without verifiable parental consent, we will delete that information promptly and will not publish, share, or use it in any way.

2. Cookies and Analytics

To understand how our website is used so we can improve it, we use Google Analytics, a web-analytics service provided by Google LLC. It collects standard, aggregate usage information — such as which pages are visited, how visitors reach the site, browser and device type, and approximate (city-level) location derived from IP address.

Cookies are set only with your consent. When you first visit, a banner asks whether to allow analytics cookies. We use Google Consent Mode, so until you select “Accept,” Google Analytics runs in a cookieless mode and stores nothing on your device. If you select “Decline,” no analytics cookies are ever set.

We have deliberately configured Google Analytics to be as privacy-protective as possible:

• IP addresses are anonymized.
• Google Signals (cross-device tracking and demographics) is disabled.
• Advertising, remarketing, and ad-personalization features are disabled — we run no ads and do not build advertising profiles.
• We do not sell personal information, and we do not use any information for behavioral or targeted advertising.
• Analytics is reviewed only in aggregate and is never used to identify an individual child.

Your choices. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time, or install Google's official Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to stop Google Analytics entirely. The website works fully with cookies disabled. Parents who would like us to delete analytics information associated with their household may contact us using Section 10 below.

We do not use advertising cookies or hidden fingerprinting scripts. Our website hosting, security, and DNS provider (Cloudflare) and email delivery service may also process basic technical information — such as IP addresses and browser type — solely as necessary to deliver the website, protect it from abuse, and ensure downloads function properly.

3. Information We May Collect

We only collect information when a parent, guardian, teacher, or adult visitor voluntarily chooses to provide it. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under the age of 13.

4. Fishery Farm Club and Monthly Showcase

The Fishery Farm Club is parent-led and operates under the following rules:

• Parents, guardians, or teachers may send fish-related content for possible inclusion in a monthly showcase. Submitting content does not guarantee it will be published.
• If we publish a submission, we will not share children's private information. We may use first names only if a parent or teacher has clearly and explicitly given permission, but we strongly prefer nicknames, initials, class names, or no child identifier at all.
• We will not publish photographs of children's faces under any circumstances.
• All published showcase content will be reviewed by the site operator before publication.

5. How We Use Information

We may use adult-provided information only for the following purposes:

• To send requested sample chapters or classroom resources.
• To reply to messages and contact form submissions.
• To review parent or teacher submissions for the monthly showcase.
• To send occasional educational updates or news about new books in the series, where an adult has provided their email address for this purpose.
• To improve the website and educational materials.
• To protect the website from spam, abuse, or technical problems.

We do not sell personal information. We do not rent personal information. We do not share personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under the age of 13.

6. Data Retention

We retain adult-provided email addresses and contact information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was provided, or as required by applicable law.

• Email addresses provided to receive sample chapters or resources will be retained until the adult requests deletion or unsubscribes.
• Club submissions will be reviewed and either published (in redacted form) or deleted within 30 days of receipt.
• Contact form messages will be retained only as long as necessary to respond to the inquiry.

Adults may request deletion of their information at any time by contacting us at the address in Section 10 below.

7. Third-Party Services

This website uses the following third-party services, which may process limited technical information as necessary to provide their functions:

• Cloudflare — website hosting (Cloudflare Workers), domain registrar, DNS management, and security services including DDoS protection.
• Email delivery service — used to send requested materials to adults who provide their email addresses. We select third-party services that are appropriate for a child-friendly educational website and that do not use data provided through our site for their own advertising or marketing purposes.
• Google Analytics (Google LLC) — privacy-configured website analytics, as described in Section 2. Google processes this data under its own Privacy Policy. You can opt out at any time using the link in Section 2.
• Sign in with Google (Google LLC) — an optional shortcut at checkout. If you choose it, Google confirms your email address and name to us so the checkout form can fill itself in; we receive nothing else, and we never see your Google password. You can always check out as a guest instead — the button can be ignored entirely. Google processes the sign-in under its own Privacy Policy.

7b. Saved Checkout Details

At checkout you can tick “Save these details on this device” so that ordering again takes one tap instead of retyping your address. It is entirely optional and the checkout works identically without it.

• What is saved. Only the delivery details you have already entered — name, email, postal address and phone number if you gave one. No payment-card details are ever stored by us; payments are handled by PayPal and card numbers never reach our systems.
• Where it is saved. In a secure cookie on your own device. If you signed in with Google, a copy is also kept with your customer record so the address is available when you order from a different device.
• How to remove it. Un-tick the same box at checkout and the saved details are deleted immediately — not merely on the next order. Clearing your browser cookies also removes the copy on your device, and you can ask us to delete the account copy using the contact details in Section 10.

These details are used for one thing: filling in your own checkout form. They are not used for advertising, not sold, and not shared for anyone else's marketing.

8. Parent and Guardian Rights

Parents and guardians have the following rights regarding any information related to their child:

• The right to ask what information, if any, has been collected in connection with their child.
• The right to request correction of any inaccurate information.
• The right to request deletion of any information related to their child.
• The right to refuse to permit further collection or use of their child's information.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details in Section 10 below. We will respond to all parent and guardian requests within 30 days of receipt.

9. School District and Institutional Use

Yechiel's Fishery Farm welcomes use in school and institutional settings. We understand that school districts, library systems, and educational institutions may conduct privacy reviews before approving materials for classroom or library use.

We welcome contact from school district privacy officers, curriculum coordinators, and librarians. We will respond to institutional privacy inquiries within 30 days and will provide any additional documentation reasonably requested to assist with privacy compliance reviews.

11. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, legal requirements, or website features. When we make changes, we will update the 'Last Updated' date at the top of this page.

We encourage parents, guardians, and teachers to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the website after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

This Privacy Policy is drafted to comply with the United States Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), 15 U.S.C. § 6501 et seq., and the FTC's COPPA Rule, 16 C.F.R. Part 312.

For visitors in the European Union or United Kingdom, we apply equivalent standards of data minimization and parental consent as a matter of policy, although this site is not currently registered under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the UK GDPR.
