Water has a secret. If you add salt to one end of a tank and fresh water to the other, and forget to stir — the two layers do not mix. They sit, one on top of the other, with a sharp invisible wall between them. The wall has a name: the salt line. George the Cranky Guppy is about to find out what it feels like to cross one by accident. His colors will tell you exactly how that goes. A mistake was made. It was not his. That, unfortunately, does not matter to the water.
